The rank on the top 10 tv.com traffic isn't important at all you know...

Also, it wasn't cancelled, it ended, the creators decided for 3 seasons since the begining, not every show stops because it's cancelled you know.

It didn't get cancelled, it ended. That was the plan. Three seasons. Nothing more. All good things come to an end at some point.

This forum is going to die down a bit. It's been an epic journey, but now that it's over, people are going to loose interest and visit less. It's alright, though. Avatar will still have a warm spot in our hearts. Being #1 doesn't matter any more. What matters most is being thankful that Mike and Bryan happened.

At this point its pretty much expected to die down like this, but it might come back up eventually. The rise won't be significant though. Avatar: The Last Airbender is over. There might be a different Avatar series in the future but it probably won't happen until the movies are over which is at minimum, half a decade down the road. People will visit less often and the forum will die down...a sad fact of Avatar's ending.

To me this board is dying very slowly already.

But I have been writing reviews in these past couple days.

Yes, the forum is sliding, just a bit - but this will by no means be permanent! There is still the rumored mini-episodes/hour long movies scheduled for Febuary - and if they turn out to be true, it is almost inevitable that Avatar will make a come back like no other. It has been confirmed that Avatar will be at the next comic-con, why would that be so if there wasn't news of some sort?

Even if the hour long movies/mini-episodes do turn out to have just been a rumor, the Avatar fandom will come back. When the movies start coming out, I will be astounded if they are not accompanied by some form of the original series returning. When the movies do come, I predict that they alone will be enough to bring the fandom back to life; once again giving us something to discuss. If the movies turn out to be a fabulous success; it could be even better than that: Avatar could become even bigger than it was originally.

Either way, I for one swear here and now that I will remain here (when I'm not on the refuge). I am going to continue to visit regularly for the next two years. Why? Because Avatar the Last Airbender inspired me as very few things have ever inspired me. It proved capable of stirring within me genuine, powerful emotion. Anything that can do that is, as far as I am concerned, is something to remain loyal to.

I am not saying that we should obsess over the show as we have for the past few years. Moving on in life is important. But it is equally important to remember what has happened, to continue to revisit the things that originally inspired you, that helped, even if only in a very small way, to change your life.

Mike and Bryan have stated that they are not yet done with the Avatar universe. We are not done with it either. Move on with your life, but keep with you a thead to the past - to the friends you've made, the great times you've had, and when the time comes and we are ready to take the next step on the adventure, follow that thread back. In the end, it is worth it.

That was amazing! Avatar has inspired me too, and I will NOT leave these boards anytime soon.

Even if the time comes when the forum on tv.com ceases to be a fun place to visit (and that is when it is truly dead), I have a feeling that the Refuge is capable of survivng the two years (if we do get a min-series, I will be certain that it can survive).

What do we do until then? My tip for the best way to fix Avatar in your mind even if you are no longer completely obsessed by it (as I for one am) is to get two calanders and start a countdown for the movie (or you can just use the online one on the movie discussion thread). Personally, I prefer the calendars - making physically crossing off each day really fixes the return of Avatar in you as an inevitable event to become hyped for when it is almost arrived.

The other is to write fanfiction. I have written several essay length fanfics and Avatar theories before now, but for the fanfic I am writing at the moment, I am actually going to make a serious attempt to write a full length novel. The advantage of such a project is that it will consume at least several months, possibly even a full year of the time necessary to wait.

This is the only forum I participate in TV.com. In fact, Avatar is the only reason why I made an account here in Tv.com. Too bad it ended. Like I said, it was fun while it lasted...
