To do that, the Avatar world would have to admit to their being such a thing as hydrogen. The avatar world only works with the 4 classic elements, fire, water, earth, and air. However, it is seen when some elements mix, and explosion ensues. For example, in the fist season, Aang and Zuko fight and mix air and fire together resulting in a huge explosion. |

Not really. No one has been unable to breathe because they
didn't admit air existed. People have historically used chemical reactions to
do so many things without understanding or acknowledging that there were even principles
of why it worked. It can be done without knowing the scientific reasons for it.
Because Aang is the Avatar, he may come to have some sort of innate ability to,
not only use the elements fluidly by using them consecutively and smartly, but
also to fuse them by using or two or more at once. To him, he may just be
bending water in a special way and using a succession of bending skills.
He could also encase the pressurized Hydrogen with earth before fire blasting
it. All elements used.

Does Azula even bend non-blue fire at all other than in the opening of the show? I don't think it has to do with power either, though, it's just something to make her different. Interestingly enough, if you drop the final a in her name, it becomes azul, the spanish world for blue...... (could then Azulon have bent blue fire? Dun dun DUN!.... lol). |

I think the difference b/t blue and regular fire isn't that big. The only difference is how Iroh explained in "Bitter Work" i think. Anyway I think this discussion is overhyped. |
