No. I better not. I'll get a TOS violation.

It's in the "Pick-up lines" thread at the Refuge.

Ok, I'll read it when I wake up.

Toph would be blind in the 21st century, and earthbenders would have very little earth to bend.

Some of the bending could be pretty useful in some times. They could help with the disastors we have in the world, and can help you out when you're in a situation

Who cares if bending isn't as powerful as technology? I want to have fun! Airbending would be sweet!

I think since 99% of all benders never even come close to what the main characters could do, and even the main characters can be beaten by a guy just wielding a sword(Piandao, or Mai, who can match declared masters of bending without even using their full potential), they wouldn't be that useful.

Anything they do in the show is easily outdone by technology today. Warballon squad vs Aircraft carrier equipped with jet fighters armed with high powered missles.

    You be the judge.

    Counters to technology:

Heat from Firebending to scramble electronics or heat up/ melt weapons. Also, the raised temperatures could prove to be an issue.

Earthbending to see particles or Waterbending and Ice crystals to seep in and damage electronics.

Airbending vs technology: How can you fire a gun or use missles if you can't breath right or are being thrown around in the air or pinned to a wall by wind?

Plus, even with the best protective armor today, it still is not 100% effective.

As for the Avatar-verse technology, it's supposed to be behind what we have today.

It would ultimately be a matter of skill and creative thinking rather than power and arsenal.
    I agree with this!

Well, in th 21st century, I'm gheussing that teh Fire Nation has these phsedo otakus, and fire is for rock bands and stuff.

Water benders have some advantage here, just look at H2O!

Air benders are gonna be ALL over the place.

    Earthbenders are remodelers. LOL.
