Now please be gentle if this has been brought up before but I was wondering. You know how the water tribe learned from the moon how to water bend and when the moon spirit died, they lost the ability to bend. Now we also know the Air nomads learned from the Flying bison and the Earth Kingdom learned from the badger moles.

Here is what i was wondering, if all the badger moles were kill would the earth kingdom lose the abililty to bend and when appa, supposedly the last flying bison, dies will air bending die with him?

    What do you think?

no i dont think so... theres a giant difference between a powerfull moon spirit, and some animals. what i DO think, is that the fire benders will lose most (if not totally) of their bending ability when the sun will be gone or destroyed (dont ask me how this would be possible though).

As far as my opinion goes, if appa died it would NOT stop airbending because also remember that when Zhou merely put the fish in a bag the waterbenders couldn't bend anymore. If appa is the last flying bison, he was like hundreds of miles away from aang during those six appaless episodes, and aang could still airbend. Put a fishy in a baggy and you can't bend vs. hide flying bison hundreds of miles away and you still can bend.
I think appa and airbending are not connected.

You know how could a solar eclipse totally block all firebender's bending? Most solar eclipses only cast a shadow of a couple hundred miles diameter over the earth. VERY few people actually have the sun blocked out for them.

hmmm ur talking about a 100% solar eclipse, but thats not what the people in ATLA are talking about. i guess a 90% solar eclipse (in other area's) also works...

The moon is a fish constant swiming round in a circle with a fish that is the ocean, somehow I think that??the??Avatar universe missed out a few key lessons in physics so I don't think that it would matter how far a solar eclipse usually casts a shadow.

Though on the topic of appa being away from Aang. Aangs connection with Appa was still going strong even while they were seperated. When the fish was taken out of the pond, the eternal circle and thus her conection with her people was broken.

Katara was thousands of miles away from the fish at the North Pole, but she could still waterbend. I don't get why putting the fish in the bag would take away waterbending.

because the moon spirit was in peril. obviously, the moon and the ocean together sustain waterbending, and when something happens to one, it doesn't work.

Good point. Maybe it was a "magic" bag stolen from the Library.

Well the waterbenders lost their bending because the moon , which affects the entire planet was taken away. But, i don't think that the moles or the Bison affect Air or Earthbenders.

um, it wasn't taken away. It was still in orbit. the little fishy who got caught in a bag was taken away.

So why did the moon itself dissapear when little fishy died? Because a gravitational portal opened between the moon and sun, blocking the suns light, darkening the moon. Oh and it just happened to happen right when the fishy died and it ceased right as the fishy woke up again. Funny how life plays those little tricks on us, isn't it?
