    My theory:

The Planet is all about balance. As long as there is a bender of each element, there is balance. If one "part" is removed, then it becomes unbalanced and the Spirits have to restore the balance. They will do this by "granting" the power of airbending to a new bunch of nomads, who will become the new Air Nomads. Then balance will be restored.

Why this hasn't happened already: because there is still one airbender left, even if he is frozen in an iceberg. As long as there is one, then there is balance.

So when Aang dies, and gets born into the Water Tribe, a new group will become the Air Nomads and will??have plently of time of master airbending by the time Aang comes to them to learn.

I sort of agree. I feel that since at one point someone was taught airbending, just like the water and earth benders were taught, then the spirits or whatever could teach someone to airbend again. I don't think it will necisserally be a group, or nomads. But I agree that Air benders are needed for balance.

ABILITY TO BEND! ABILITY TO BEND! The question of all questions, the wind that you cant quite catch, its like trying to find the meaning of life. What is the ability to bend? That is what this theory comes down to as well. If Aang has kids, or if there are other airbenders, or even airbending genes. I think Avatars need to learn Airbending from someone, maybe that'll happen to the next Avatar too, he'll need something. I think that Aang is not the last airbender (darn show title), but I agree about the balance.

    Good to see another theorist.

Theories require evidence; a idea without evidence is called a hypothesis, anyone got any evidence?
