think about it, we already know she is smart enough to pull it off (look at how she overthrew the earth king and outsmarted long feng), she's got the most powerful earthbenders on her side, she knows about the day of black sun, knows her way around the fire nation, and has an inside track to the fire lord.the odds are on her side.

heres how it could happen... weeks before the day of black sun she shows up with a small group of dai lee agents with zuko and iroh in hand, naturally??ozai welcomes her back. she tells??him about??how she took over ba sing se and??the eclipse,??she then??offers the agents as body guards in case anyone attempts to invade during the eclipse. little does he know she just made him a prisoner in his own palace. and as the??eclipse approaches she has the rest of the dai lee in position to invade. now ozai has nowhere to go and his only choices are to surrender the throne or death. this would make her ruler of the fire nation and the earth kingdom. aang better watch his back.

??let me know what you think, and feel free to add on

hmmm, sounds great apart from the Ozai bit.

I can't see one of if not THE most powerful firebender needing bodyguards in his own palace which is no doubt surrounded by the FN army.

I can possibly see Ozai being a few steps ahead of his daughter, after all, Azula is only what Ozai made her.

Plus why would the Dai Lee help Azula on the day of black sun, the one day the could actually beat her. While I completely agree that Azula would go for the FN I don't think it'd be the wasy you've outlined, something more underhanded, perhaps leading Aang to Ozai for the Day of Black Sun so that once the Avatar and the Fire Lord battle she can pick off the winner who will be very weak from battle, if Ozai wins, behind closed door she kill's him and claims that 'after battling the Avatar my father the firelord died for his nation and now I shall rule in his wake etc etc' or if Aang wins(which we know he will) she would try to finish him off. in fact I have no idea but cant wait for season 3"!!!!

I don't agree with Azula taking over Ozai.

For one thing, we don't know how powerful he really is.
I wonder if the dude can shoot white fire. Not likely, but that would be awesome.

And as much as I like to believe he sits on his lazy carcass all day, I do think he's smarter than people realize. The Fire Nation wouldn't have got where they were with a terrible leader. I am also sure Ozai would be aware. His bro turned agaisnt him so he's gonna watch out.

Also it seems fishy. The guy has to have tons of body gaurds all over the place. And she says she'll put in earthbender gaurds? Also I think Ozai would prefer fire nation over earth kingdom soilders.

ok well i dint go into a lot of deatil in my quick little outline so let me just answer a couple of the questions here first of all the reason ozai would prefer the dai li for protection is because during the eclipse he and his fire bending guards would be essentially helpless against any invader, and also azula has gained his trust ( she's his favorite, she conquered ba sing se, killed the avatar, captured zuko and iroh, and renamed omashu in his honor) so if she says he'll be safe he has no reason to believe otherwise. also the dai lee wouldnt turn on azula because they have been trained to take orders, kinda like the question thats been asked before about why would they take orders form the fire nation princess? because its what they were told to do.

i appreciae the comments please keep em comin

This idea is not that far fetched. If Azula is like her father, which she is, she would grab an apportunity to take control of the world.

Yeah, but Ozai, from the way he sounds (gathered from past epis that have him/talk of his behavior/etc) he sounds kind of bigheaded. i mean, heel, he's the ruler of the most powerful nation in the world. Of course he has to be slightly bigheaded somewhere. And if he is, all his "Precious, honorable, trustworthy" Azula has to do is say the right things and he could stumble right into her palm. Azula's one crafty sista. You never know...

I like Azula, yet I don't. i hate her, yet she's so powerful and gifted you have to admire her. So I want her and Ozai to just die.

But since it's a nick show, watch her at the last minute make peace with her brother....lordie...

I DO agree with the OP. I was going to post something like this myself. She doesn't have to invade herself, mind you: But I think that Aang is suddenly going to find her quite a willing ally, and that she will use the Earth Kingdom's army to the fullest to support the invasion (after all, for all they know, she is the Earth King. Being totally invisible to the public has its price.)

And then, when Ozai is defeated, Sozin's Comet will arrive, and who will be sitting pretty to rake in the power all for herself..?

edit:?? as for it being a nick show, well.. come on now.?? What other cartoon on any channel would show someone with a gaping, smoking hole in their back?

What if the comet was somehow eclipse by the moon? That would be sort of funny.

    Buahahahahaha. VERY.

I am so serious. i want the Water Tribe in the next season to really put up a fight, just so everyone can see that they aren't weak as they look. Because it really seems like they're the weakest looking nation out of the three of them.

They are the weakest as in terms of land forces. But I guess their Navy can hold its own against the Fire Nation.

They're still stronger than they look though. Oh well. If the Earth Kingdom has fallen and they're still in it, that has to mean they aren't weak anyways.

Sorry. i LOVE the Water Tribe (points to sparkly icon in sig)

Well the capital of the Earth Kingdom has fallen, but since it is a Kingdom that doesn't mean everything as a whole as fallen apart. There should be some dukes barons who run areas of the land in the Earth Kingdom that have small armies. So not all is lost. But a big blow has been fell.

Lol, she will never die. I doubt she will resolve family issues with her brother. She probably hates Zuko knowing he will become Fire Lord. I do think she will come up with a plan to overthrow Ozai. Maybe she will take the Dai Li and gather up a bunch of Fire Nation Soldiers to take him down. He probably is powerful, yet not so much more powerful then Azula. I have a strange feeling if Iroh doesn't die before they go after Ozai, Iroh will be the one to kill/stop Ozai. He obviously wants the war to end after what it did to his only son. Anyway, Azula knows her father is powerful and will most likely have something planned just incase something like what she is planning happens. Maybe Azula won't tell him about the eclipse and add that to her little plan of evil. Maybe even she will use the comet for her own gain, and become powerful enough to kill Ozai. She has the power and the motivation, now she needs the timing. I just hope she doesn't die. I like her and she plays a good role on the show. Shes a major plot twist character especially with her brother. Watch, the next scenes for Avatar show Azula teaching Aang to shoot lightning. I sure hope not.

You cannot say that for sure though. Azula is very opportunistic. If she was given the chance she would.

Before I would have said that, that would never happen, I just couldn't see it happening, but after Earth King n CRoD, it definetly shifted my views, and I definetly consider it a possibility.
