Cars? Trains? That is rather a big game changer, also seeing Korra in Airbender uniform is most welcome. As for the island it does look like Tenzin might be rich, I mean being the son of the Avatar of course.

Wow that's funny five years old and already to take on the world. Am I seeing things or is that the white lotus by the Aang statue?

Personally, i myself am having thoughts about the new series, and that's based on what limited info i have on it.

    1. Based on what i've read about them, it really feels like they're trying to make Korra and Tenzin seem better than Aang (which doesn't seem right, considering the latter is his son). They say Korra is the opposite of Aang in personality and that Tenzin is much more serious than his father. What was wrong with Aang's personality? Plus, they show that Korra learned three elements when she was much younger than Aang who had to learn them in the course of 112 years.

    2. I'm a little unsure about how to feel in regards to the show's more "Modern" city design. I guess I'm just still accustomed to the original shows' Feudalistic/Middle Ages setting. At this point, i don't see how a modern world with microphones, cars and electricity can work with the Avatar series

    3. Maybe i'm just being wishful, but i wouldn't mind if a few characters and events from the original series are referenced, if only to remind people what started it all.

P.S. As someone once wrote, Aang died at an early age due to being the Iceberg in the Avatar State. But all things considered, living to your late 60's or early 70's is a feet in and of itself, as not a lot of people in that day and age lived to be that old.

Yes, I understand your plight I think they are making Tenzin and Korra better then Aang is because, this is after The Last Airbender. Fans gonna want more for it, Tenzin and Korra have to be more than Aang.
As for Tenzin remember he is half Aang but he's also half Katara. Korra while was shown to bend water, earth and fire doesn't mean she is a expert, plus they bend looked pretty basic. The setting while more into the world of Avatar while in the future doesn't make it a bad story just a change of view. I mean noone wants to see the same thing everytime right? The whole characters from the past thing, well there is Katara and there's no way to say there won't be anything to refer to past events.

Fire nation was exploding in their industrial revolution, 70 years and sharing their science with the rest of the world seems enough time.
Plus, mankind built the first airplane and sixty years later got to the moon.

I see what you're going at, but, it's not the case. It's never said that they are better than Aang, just different, you could see it as Aang being more balanced and therefor better than Tenzin and Korra who are at extremes, but no comparison is made, they're just three different characters. Now, the whole Korra thing, early on (like, a minute into the first episode) we see that she can bend since she was about 4, so there's probably something going on. My bet is that Spirit Bending made the Avatar Spirit stronger.

What i said to the other guy.

Oh, TRUST ME. There will be references. And, there's a BIG one five minutes in, big spoiler though Tenzin's daughter asks Katara about ZUKO'S MOTHER, but gets interrupted before anything is said. so, don't worry, nobody's forgetting about the previous series.

Very true, and Aang was great.
