    The movie is likely to get a rating of bucket of ****, so it doesn't really matter. Still In theory a movie openly based around asian culture would feel kind of awkword having white people everywhere without some kind of explanation.

    Look on the Map. Asia is a damn huge teritory. For the Film itself it is not important to have "asian" or "white" people. i were more awkword having only people from one "Race" everywhere.

    Personaly, i give a **** about wich imaginary race does Katara or Toph. All people in The Avatar TLA have neutral faces without clear genetical identities, wich are common in our world.. You can apportion them only by their lifestyle, cultural identity and clothes. (even Aang was almost unmasked only because he played different music and acted different as local firenation people) For lifestyle and culture, it is not important to have "asian face".

    In Asia are some millions people who can be counted as european or "white".(vice versa btw. in europe) In the End, for my part, it can be some african-american girl with blond hairs and green-violet eyes. i dont care.

    I just want to see good actors, good story, good directing and great FX.

    Yeah but the characters in ATLA all look caucasian! I mean it would just be soo wierd to suddenly see a slant-eyed katara or Aang. Not that I'm racist, in fact quite the opposite; I love the oriental people. But c'mon! You hafta keep at least part of the look accurate!
    (Maybe Asian-Americans mix could play the part?)

    Did I say that? you really interpret things strangely! I said nothing about the acting quality or the need for non-chinese actors in those movies my point was here were movies with all chinese actors, is there a problem with that, no. Everyone is racist in one way or another get over your self. You really want to know who I think would be best to play in the movie? Cracker or Chink No, the best actors would be: CARTOON CHARACTERS!

    You can tell race in a anime with those giant eyeballs and single sweat gland at the back of the head??? Sorry when I saw them they were all asian to me.
