I have an idea for a video game...

    Title: Avatar: the Great War

    Type of game: RTS

    Platforms: PC

It is kind of like 'The Battle for Middle Earth,' in a way.

There would be three armies you could play as: Water, Earth, and Fire.

New Aspects: You could switch from controlling the armies to actually walking around as a hero. Another aspect would be my new Avatar RTS specific Command or Natural attacks. I'll use waterbenders as an example: You right click on the ground somewhere and there would be a menu that pops up (small.) There are different bending abilities to use, higher powered ones the higher level the batalllion is. For example: Freeze??they could??get at level three. They could freeze??water and walk across it or use it as an??ice ball.??Some other powers they would get would be Ice barrage, pull water out of air, and water blast. Waterbenders fish for food; Earthbenders hunt for food, Firebenders cook for food. Time is shown and the sun actually rises and sets giving advantages and disavantages to the Fire and Waterbenders.

Powers are acquired by saving up points that you get for killing your enemy.

    Armies:

    Water:

Heroes: Aang, Katar, Sokka, Appa and Momo (function as a pair) Bato, Master Pakku, and Yaguda.

Troops: Southern Water Peasants, Nuns, Water tribe boat, Healers, Northern Water Canoes, Waterbenders, and Wall Guard.

Powers: Draft- all peasants gain bending abilities, Heal- heals units in a given area, Rising Moon- Gives waterbenders an advantage, Clouds- gives firebenders a disadvantage, Unagi Eel- Summons a Unagi Eel to help with the battle, Earth Allies- Summons a group of earthbenders to help with the battle, Avatar Rokku- summons Avatar Rokku to help with the battle, and Water Spirit- Sends out the Water spirit for a short amound of time to do massive dammage.

    Earth:

Heroes: Suki, King Bumi, Haru, Tyru, Shyu (?), Jet, Canyon Guide,??Jeong Jeong (?) and Teo.

Troops: Kyoshi Warriors, Kyoshi Peasants, Freedom Fighters, Gan Jin Warriors, Zhang Warriors, Ostrich horse Riders, Deserters, "Air" People, and basic Earthbenders

Powers: Draft, Farsight- because of their 'second sense' they can get further vision, Strong Defenses- strengthens building and Natural power hit points, Water Allies- summons a group of waterbenders to help with the battle, 'Airpeople' Allies- Summons a group of flying people to drop stink and slime bombs on the enemy, Mechanist- Summons Teo's who has powers to create inventions to help with the battle, Badgermoles- Summons 2 Badgermoles to crush the enemy with.

    Fire:

Heroes: Zuko/Blue Spirit, Iroh, Zhao, The Warden, The Great Sage, The Pirate Captain, Jet, and the Emissary from the Northern Air Temple.

Troops: Fire Soldiers, Fire Cooks, Freedom Fighters, Canyon Crawlers, Rhino Riders, Elite Guard, Fire Nation Ship, Fire Tanks, Catapults

Powers: Draft, Clouds, Rising Sun- gives firebenders an advantage and waterbenders a disadvantage, Repair buildings- since buildings are made of metal, just heat them back up to repair, Invasion and Taxation- takes a small village found throughout a map of opposite side, and gets their resources, Imprisonment- forces a group of the opposite side to fight for them, Yu-Yan Archers- Summons them to help with the battle, Firebender allies- the name says it, and Jun the Bounty hunter- is summoned.

    Other

There would be small ally villages around on maps

Animals would run free to be captured and used as a resource.

This would be the story of Aang in book one Water, possibly with expansion packs for book 2: earth, and book 3: Fire.

There would be continue ups for characters only mentioned in an episode or so: Kyoshi Warriors in the War, Omashu being attacked and captured, Bato traveling to the other Southern water warriors, Zhangs, Guide, and Gan Jin Traveling to Ba Sing Se, ect.

If you guys have any comments, suggestions, or ideas, feel free to post them. I'm not an actual person who creates games, I just have ideas. So far, this is all I've worked on. I'll post more when I plan it out. Thanks!

Why not for Gamecube??? Other than that it is a good game concept, if not a little complicated. It might be hard to have the daytime/nighttime transitioning within the game.

I kind of think that an Avatar game would have to be RPG, but better than that travesty made by THQ. For instance BETTER GRAPHICS, and they should stick to the storyline.

If it is a RTS it cannot be on consoles, just on the pc, because if you try putting a RTS game on a console you get the disappointing results LOTR: battle for middle earth II, got when they put it on the 360, it is just unplayable. And yeah i also think an Avatar game should be an RPG game, because i don't really like RTS's (expert for Empire Earth)

I was thinking about Jet and wondering how he could be done. I put him on the 'bad side' because of how he was willing to destroy a whole Earth Kingdom village, but on the other hand, he lives and was born ing the EK. I know how it would be cool to make an RPG game for Avatar, and I was also thinking of other games. I thought it might be cool to have an RTS and command troops in the world of Avatar, thus the idea began. I know that there aren't any large battles yet in the show, save the Siege of the North, and kind of the Return to Omashu. I was thinking about the complexity about the idea, and it does sound kind of hard to do the day/night thing, but if it could be figured out, it would be well worth it. Also, I think that the whole idea of being able to swoop down and be a hero would be a pretty cool idea. I think you should still be able to control your troops while as that person. This would probably be really complex, but again, it would be cool. I also have another idea. The basic game menu when you turn it the game on could be like this: It would show the city in the north pole from afar, swoop down to the ocean and into through the gate in the wall, up the hydro chamber, across the barren ice, through the canals, up the pyramid like 'main' city, and then facing the ocean since this would be book one.

Oh, also, does anyone know how to take pictures from Avatar episodes? From the TV, YouTube, or Google Videos? I need some to help with art for it.

i agree why not for the gamecube, the newer game systems are to expensive and i have heard that they are some underlying issues with some of them.

O_o I don't understand why we're arguing about which consoles this game should be on... it's not even going to come out.

Sounds like the game Spellforce, you can switch between 3rd person and birds eye view of your hero, and you have to build army and gather resource and it switches between day and night. That game is okay, it has good graphics and all, i just think the story is a little weird.

Well, we are just discussing this because some people have a thing against Nintendo and I just happened to notice that the Gamecube/Wii was left out of the original list of consoles. WHAT IS IT WITH PEOPLE AGAINST NINTENDO?!?!?!? WHAT IS SO BAD ABOUT IT?!?!?!?!?

I'd much rather have Starcraft 2, if you want a RTS that's going to be good.

Starcraft 2.... Mmmm..... Jim Raynor's still alive, so's Kerrigan, so's Zeratul. And Samir Duran..

For those who don't know what I'm talking about, Starcraft had a ridiculously good campaign story, the best of all time for any RTS, probably the best for a computer game, period, as well as clearly being the best RTS of all-time. Pretty much every character in the game owned, a lot. SC2 would be a joy to play gaming-wise as well as storyline-wise.

I can't say the same for this Avatar game. BTW, if you're impatient, just make this into a Warcraft 3 mod.

And real LOL @ using controllers for any RTS game. Period.

Until I Zerg rush you. Kekekekeke ^________^ But on the other note Blizzard is too busy swimming in their WoW cash to really care about Starcraft now. Remember what happened to Starcraft Ghost?

Anyway this sounds like a great game. Of course your idea for the game and battles is the traditional RTS settings, I would like to see it more like the Total War games where you build troops in cities and move them out on battlefields later on. If anyone has played the Total War games they know what I mean.

it sounds cool, but it's not what they image they want to project.

nick has avatar projecting morals and spirituality, blah blah blah.

yeah, most may only be interested in the action scenes and the violence. but there's no bloodshed, no killing (zhao doesn't count). the war in the game wouldn't be what the Avatar's all about.

Well, I'm not even aiming for bloodshed. I know nick is not aiming for that, and, like you said, they are for morals and spirtuality. I just thought that it would be a cool idea for a video game.

Also like piranhapete said, this is probably not ever going to be made into a real video game. I had an idea, and I just wanted to see what other people thought of it.

How about this instead of making rts we make an Avatar MMORPG! We could choose between one of the three: water, earth, and fire nations. (air nation will be avaliable in expansion). It'll be just like guild wars except avatar style
