So the Avatar creators have hinted that there might be a new show dealing with characters hundreds (thousands?) of years in the past. I'm guessing they'll follow the adventures of another Avatar. It'd be cool to see Avatar Kyoshi's adventures when she was a young girl. Or maybe even the story of the very FIRST Avatar and how he/she came about. Without the guidance of former Avatar spirits, I'm sure it would make being the Avatar much more difficult.

I'm also wondering how different the early Avatar world was, what nation was the aggressor, etc. It'd be weird to see the Water Tribe as the would-be conquerors instead of the Fire Nation.

So what would you like to see?

There are lots of stories that the Creators could tell after the current one, the Avatarverse is vast and there are many places left to explore. IDK actually. I wouldn't like it if they did anther Avatar, unless they find a really good way to make it different from the current story.

But as I said, there are many stories to tell in this world.

The more I think about it, the story of the very first Avatar would be intriguing. Why and how he/she came about. What was the threat that needed stopping. Orgin stories very much interest me!

LOL. Thanks for your well-thought-out contribution. But I guess it takes an imagination to discuss this topic.

I'm a newbie here, so I don't want to step on any toes. But it seems like there's a lot of posters here that just post the typical "epic fail!" It's pretty easy to criticize and a lot harder to contribute.

A lot of people don't like it when you 'double post' that is, post two posts in a row. I don't know why, but some people get annoyed by it. Just throwin' that out there.

Dam it! I was going to criticize. Now I'll just have to contribute...

It really would be interesting to see how the world would have developed in that time. Bending styles, society, technology and what new challenges there would be to face. I can really imagine them become an advanced culture by then, considering they already have submarines and tanks. Maybe in the new society bending has become a lot less important because o the new developments. It culd just be something for fun or entertainment. Or maybe benders could become outcasts of society and are feared and villified.

Y'know, I'm getting the feeling that this place is filled with jaded Forum Etiquette Nazis. I was merely responding to avrunkinninami's post. Am I supposed to wait until somebody posts after me to reply to him? That's just silly.

Thank you! An actual well-thought-out/non-cynical response!

Benders becoming outcasts seems plausible, but may be a little too "X-Men." Still, it would make sense that the very first benders would be feared for their awesome power. Very intriguing.

Yeah, I would like to see a more "primitive" society and how the Fire Nation became more industrialized.

I was kidding, they will have to find a new enemy, otherwise, it's boring. So, maybe, after years, the myth about the avatar will be forgetten somehow and people wont be able to defent themself against the new enemy. So, let begin " The Search For The Avatar " (...)

Well, too bad. If I have something to say, I'll double-post if I want to. Deal with it.

Oh, and correcting someone for double-posting IS criticizing their etiquette. It has nothing to do with grammar.

First of all, I welcome you into the Avatar: The Last Airbender boards.

    But on topic...
Personally I think that a new series should include a storyline after the original, or that has something to do with it. (Mostly because it would be cool to hear stories from the people about the "Avatar and his friend five hundred years ago" or something.) Just think about it. We see Aang and all those other characters we know and love in flashbacks, or Aang as a "previous" Avatar giving advice, and maybe even known as "the greatest Avatar who ever lived". It is interesting, is it not? I mean people actually telling stories about them to their grandchildren...I don't know. I like the feeling. It's like they were remembered even in the show.

Thanks for the warm greeting! Nice to see that some people here are more welcoming of new peeps.

It would be interesting to see stories set in the future. Maybe some of the Gaang could make appearances as old folks like Bumi. I'd love to see what Sokka or Toph are like when they're old geezers! I can imagine Sokka wanting to eat meat, but he has no more teeth to chew it. Ha. Somehow, though, Toph picking her nose as an old lady just isn't as cute.

I think I did read somewhere about the new show taking place in the past, but I'm sure nothing has been finalized yet.

I'm not trying to fan the flames here, just straighten things out. The Grammar Thought Police thing was somewhat of a joke- see tomtitan's sig for more info. You seem to know how to use the edit button, so that should solve the double-posting prob. There can be a lot of rampant criticism sometimes, but *shrug* you just have to kinda deal and take it in stride.

On topic: All of these ideas sound interesting and have potential. I'm all for the gaang making appearances when their older and/or seeing the future, but I think going into the past will be just as good. I wonder how much of what the current Avatar world knows about the past is accurate... after all, is it only the Fire Nation that rewrites history?

There are way too many possibility's out there for me to predict accurately, but if it comes from Mike and Bryan it will be good. I would like to see a past series though about the 1st avatar.

I have no problem with valid criticism, but I'm not going to take nitpicking "in stride." If I disagree with something I will say so.

Seriously, not trying to pick a fight, but some of you really need to come down from your "I've been here long so I can rag on a newbie for no good reason" high horse. I just want to discuss Avatar so that's what I'm doing. Anyway, it's all good.
