I don't think that i have ever read anything of Vampking's. meh...
anywho, don't forget about having fun. Seriousness takes a day off here
Unless your reading Confuciusayshi's stuff. Step down Stephen King
I was having fun. Death is fun.
To take Daf's idea and refocus it,
We aren't:
"Dude1 attacks Dude2 for 15 hp, Dude2 dies, Dude1 gets 10 gold."
We are:
(Character name)
(Short description of previous events)
-------------------(divider)--------------------
(Story, usually a few paragraphs with dialogue and everything else a short story entails.)
-------------------(divider)--------------------
(Thanks for reading, comments plz, etc. Optional.)
So, in the cIassic sense, this isn't really an RPG. It's a big interactive story. It was badly titled, but SO(Thread creator) is long gone, and it wouldn't feel right to call it anything else.
Oh, and it almosts sounds as if you have everyone in the RPG in one place. I'm in Ba Sing Se, Chad's in a volcano, Daf's in the North Pole, and Nein(lol) is somewhere else... I'm not sure really. So our stories are individual, they're just set in the same world.

Oh, I forgot the rules for the new guy when I told him to make his profile. No made up bending. You can bend the clouds if you're a waterbender, or push them if you're an airbender, but you can't create and maipulate storms. Also, a little more detail in his history. His life in his village? How he escaped? What his motives are, where's he going? Stuff like that. Not bad though. Just needs some tweaks. |
EDIT: If you want a post example, check out post 8723 on page 437. You can read all of it if you want, but you won't understand any of it, I think. Yours don't have to be so long, but that was my finale, and I had pulled out all the stops for it.

Alright, This time, I'm going to do it! I'm going to type my fan fic now! *disappears for three hours* Plz let me know what you think guys, I haven't posted in a while.
I hope it inspires the rest of you.
Now that I've got my story cooking and my fire burning, there's plenty more to come, since I left it at a climax and so forth. There won't be too many climaxes from me, but, it was easier to leave it this way beacuse of the word restrictions anyways.
So....That's the plan and I'm sticking to it. Double09, I know you haven't seen me post in forever, and you haven't recieved a sig, But now I've done both, and just in time, beacuse college for me starts tommorow. Yay english.
Kela Dasman; Waterbender, Day 128. The Lobby, Morning.
The candy in the tray by the receptionist counter was waiting helplessly for Kela's next trick. The next shipment of saltwater taffy had just come in, and the tray was chock full of it. He saw that there was a new group of people walking in through the door with traditional water tribe clothing. They talked loudly as they waited in line to see the receptionist. Instead of playing a trick on her to take some candy, he simply walked up and took one, and put it in his pocket. He thought about the glorious day he played a trick. 'Heh heh.' He thought. The receptionist was writing things down, as usual. Kela thought she was probably writing down her thoughts about innovations for the future and such. It didn't interest him any more.
He meandered over to the glass window, which was frosted with snow. 'I can hardly tell that it's springtime around here.' He thought. He drew ying and yang on the inside of the window, along with a poor self-portrait of himself. Then he dozed off and sat in on the bench near the window inside the lobby. He daydreamed about drawing a beautiful picture on the window the next time he came in. But he peeked again at his own drawing and forgot about it. Then he just sat there in silence, waiting for the time to come for Mar to come back from a meeting with a healer. On occasion, Mar would see this healer to get some advice and lessons on healing the sick and wounded. This attribute would be much more useful on the journey, due to the fact healing powers were a dire necessity in a pinch like Evelet's three months ago.
The clock struck eleven and Kela left the lobby. It was time the four of them met to discuss the future. He waited outside to meet Mar, whom he expected to see coming up soon. He glanced back and forth down the streets, looking at corners and expecting Mar to show up. Kela kicked the snow at his feet, and made large splashes. He inhaled deep and focused, and the snow at his feet turned to water. He then inhaled and made the water freeze around his feet. 'Time to stretch.' He thought. It amused him to play with water in a creative manner, such as making a house out of ice picks he made on the patio of a tea house, or the time he froze the water coming out of Saze's shower pipe, which was quickly reheated by Saze's firebending. He used the frozen feet to stretch forward and touch his toes, and swivel around on his hips.
Mar started coming towards Kela around the corner of one of the buildings. Kela melted the ice and started walking forward to meet Mar as well. From Kela's standpoint, it appeared as if Mar was reading a piece of paper. They met up in the middle of the street. Mar was crying soft tears.
Today was the day that mail men, or messengers, would take mail to residents that participated in the mailing system. Everyone planning to receive mail was registered there, including where they lived. Mar visited every week to wait for letters from Aeros. He was a mysterious airbender that didn't send messenger hawks often, despite his ability to run fast and fly.
Mar didn't receive a letter from Aeros that day. She received it from his Murderer. She was crying, and said, "This man, killed Aeros…" She wept and showed Kela the letter.
Dear Mar, Aero's lover
My name is Aires.,
I'm not sorry to inform you of this, but Aeros is dead. He disguised himself as personnel and infiltrated our company. When he tried to confront me, I killed him. I spared your lives before, but this time I didn't show him mercy. He failed to understand that I betrayed him and that was that. The both of you don't understand what it was like to be me, and you annoyed me immensely. I'm glad that he's dead, because I could care less. He died saying your name, and it was pitiful.
The hawk that was sent back to you is being tracked. We'll be meeting soon.
Wretched friends, I don't even want to breathe the same air as you.
Aires.
Kela gripped the letter with an almighty force. The injustice and insanity from the letter made him upset. He thought about the ways to deal with this, but he knew they would be meeting eventually. 'He's probably the kind of man that would send somebody else to assassinate you.' He walked up to Mar and held her in his arms. "Don't worry about Aires, Mar. He's a coward." Mar wiped her tears from her face. They walked to the back of the apartment building and got into a boat to go upstream, to meet Saze and Evelet at the temple. As Kela was rowing along, and he told Mar. "No excuse Aires can give will justify his actions without an Apology." Said Kela sternly. "His destiny is grim." And Kela knew that things would be ok. "Mar, I'm sorry about Aeros, I can sympathize with you on your loss." Kela thought about his father's departure. His father taught him everything. But Kela had come to a conclusion with his past. His father was a pirate that was still alive. Mar would have to live with Aero's disappearance forever.
They reached the temple and docked the boat. Saze and Evelet were waiting outside the temple on a bench, waiting for Mar and Kela to pick them up. Seeing Mar's demeanor, Saze and Evelet hurried to meet them.
After they read the letter, they felt similar to Kela. "This guys pretty delusional if he can't come to accept his friends." Said Evelet. "Mar, we won't this devil come near you, trust us." They started walking up to the temple to talk with some of the elders concerning this issue. An act of assassination on Mar would be counted as espionage, and they had been citizens of the water tribe for sometime now. The water tribe would do it's best to protect them. Kela and Mar walked into the temple and approached the chief. The four of them got on a knee and greeted the chief. "Chief Alamno, we have some news that we could use help with." Said Kela, "If you would please read this letter.
The chief nodded his head. Kela stood up and delivered the letter to the chief. He scratched his large beard and the back of his head, raising an eyebrow. The Chief was and large man, with a headdress of whale bones and a spear two feet taller than he was. After the chief had read the letter, he nodded his head and gave the letter back to Kela.
"The first thing I'm going to do…is ask that you burn that letter young lady." He said. Mar looked up and asked, "Why?"
"There is no reason to hold onto things that will forever cause you're heart to break. Get rid of it, burn it, cut it into pieces. That man is of no concern to you anymore, and neither his is terrible writing."
Mar nodded her head.
"The second thing I'm going to do is to ask you to relocate silently Mar. It doesn't appear as though he intends to hurt your friends, but it's best if all of you relocate immediately. If you need to leave, one of my people will leave for you. The citizens of the water tribe are all family, and I will treat everyone with the dignity and respect that they deserve.
"If they were tracking that hawk, then it must have a scent that a shirshu is tracking." He said. "They may even have a smell sample for you. I will prepare forces for anti shirshu tactics.
"If Aire's has a company, then we should be prepared for a small war. The water tribed doesn't have many troops or fighters, but we do have tactics against invasion.
"Also, I believe as soon as Aires arrives, he will be spotted and disarmed."
The chief bowed, "You're safe here with us."
The four of them stayed the day in the temple in a separate room. A team called the Barracudas was sent to do reconnaissance on various parts of the city, giving false information about their whereabouts and keeping their apartment active. Kela asked if they could invite Norman, the typographer to join them.
After taking a nap on the comfortable beds provided, Kela walked around the palace gathering all his friends. Mar was walking through the hallways, reading the history of the watertribe inscribed on the walls. She had seen it during a lesson once for waterbending, when they toured the temple and it's vast chasms and hallways. It echoed thought the ice and stone. Evelet and Saze were meditating in the meditation room that was used during some lessons. That was Kela's favorite part of learning more about waterbending. The room was lit with an everlong orange glow of candlelight, and soft wooden flooring. The incense burned lightly, and he half heartedly woke Saze and Evelet from meditation.
At the same time, Norman had just arrived in secret. He took off his indistinctive cloak and greeted Kela in the Hallway of the History of the Water Tribe.
They all gathered in the room they were to be staying in that night. Kela said to them, "It's time to discuss our plan of action." He said. He didn't know when or how Aires was coming, so he thought the best plan of action would be to leave soon. Staying for too long would be bad.
The discussion went like this:
"So, I was thinking, we should embark to the earth kingdom next, around to the far east of it, and into Ba Sing Se. If you guys want to leave with me, that's fine." Kela put his hands on his thighs and waited for a response.
"Well, I'm already going with you to see your father first to negotiate, so in return as you being my guide, I will accompany you on your journey." Said Norman, scratching his bald head.
"I want to go with you Kela, you're one of the best friends I've made in years." Saze put his hand in the circle. Norman followed, then Kela.
"I don't know what to do." Said Mar. "I always thought Aeros would come back for me."
"Aeros is dead Mar." Said Kela, looking straight at her.
"What if he lied?!!" she yelled.
The group looked at her. Evelet, who was sitting next to her said, "It's alright."
Kela continued, "I don't think Aires had a reason to lie." Mar was delusional at this point and Kela was getting worried.
Mar looked down, and her eyes watered, about to cry. But she took a big sniff and pushed her tears back. With a quaky voice, she said, "Alright, I'll go with you guys." She said. Evelet put his hand in afterwards, "Then I'm going too." He said.
"Alright, we'll be leaving soon, get ready to pack your things, I'll ask the chief and the Barracudas if they can bring them too us as quickly as possible." Said Kela. "Stay put. I'll be right back.
Kela left the room and moved to the main hall. He went looking for the chief, but the he wasn't there. Kela peeked outside the temple to see if he had stepped outside for a bit, but they weren't there. He also searched the corridors and the meditation room, but no one was there either. He also searched the building attached to the temple: The barracks. It was a long walk across a bridge, but he managed to make it to their living quarters. Nobody had seen where the chief and the barracuda had gone that night. He wandered around the building asking people and receptionists here and there if they had any idea what was going on. Nobody was able to give Kela a straight answer.
On his way back across the long bridge, night had fallen, and the moon was anew. The darkness settled in eerily and he was unable to see far ahead of him.
'Something…is going on right now…' He thought. He started growing more paranoid about the situation and he walked a bit faster across the bridge.
The wind whistled around him and left a chill in his body. The suns glow grew very dim, and the cyan and blue was sucked out of the North Pole to a cold gray.
Out of the sky, a man from a glider fell down in front of him. Kela gasped at the sight, and he knew the time had come sooner than he thought. This man was Aires, or somebody working under him, and his problems became more complicated.
The man in the cloak spoke after a mutual understanding had been silently reached. "So, you're Kela Dasman, I've heard much about you and your father."
"You don't look like a pirate though, do you?" He said with a glint in his voice and glee in his throat.
"I can't let you through here, we're dealing with maintenance. Something leaked and we have to clean it up. Do you catch my drift?"
The wind blew in Kela's direction. 'I haven't dealt with a real opponent before.' Thought Kela. Kela Dasman wasn't a violent person. He had always used his skills to help others, or to bring himself at peace. He uncorked his waterskin in an obvious manner. The man grunted, and belittled him, "You're not going to stop huh?" He said.
"I, Shao Mao, bodyguard of Aires, will not allow you to pass. This bridge."
Said Shao.
"You're his bodyguard huh?" Said Kela mockingly, "Heh, I knew he was a coward. Even his words sounded scared." Kela stood firm, ready to move at anytime.
"I was only asked to find you and distract you, but I don't mind making you squeal for Aires to take back what you've said about him." He threatened Kela with menace in his voice, standing prepared to attack.
"That makes two of us, if Aires apologizes to Mar, I'm willing to forgive him at least on her behalf."
Kela knelt.
