no i dont think so. someone go watch the episodes and double check the quote that the creator of this thread used
He's definately on Ember Island:
The palace is in the center, and where Sozin is, the ocean is right below him:
Even so, he still couldn't see 100 miles unless he was on a 1500 foot building, which is taller than the Empire State Building.

What if... (wait for it)
The Avatar world is flat?
We know that it has identical seasons, despite what hemisphere you are in. It also has frozen poles, but day and night cycles regularly there. Perhaps it is something of an Ancient Greek theory type world.

Nah, Sozin would be able to see everything, all the way to the other side. Maybe everyone thinks it's flat, since it never occured to Sokka that they could invade from the back of the Earth Kindom or the Eastern Air Temple to the back of the Fire Nation using Earthbenders to climb up and over. Unless.... of course.... there's more land to be discovered...

This is the author/creator of this forum. I have read over what different people have been putting, and lets say I was wrong and it was Ember Island that the Fire Lord was at instead, but that still means using the most liberal estimates that the Avatar World is still less than 3000 miles which is about the distance from Portland OR to Portland MA. Anyways (again) the point is more that the Avatar World is really small... .. .
By-the-way it great that people are getting into this forum, but the point of this forum was not just to talk about one or two concepts but about the fact and/or mistakes of the series in general and overall, but please still keep debating each other as much as you want.wiseone_777 wrote: | ||||

Yes, that's been established already.
