Hi. I searched the forum, and unfortunately I couldn't find what I was trying to. If there's already a topic on this, then I apologize.

Okay, we all know that Aang was shot by lightning in this episode. Now basically, I have 2 questions:

    1. Did he die? If he DID die, then that means that Katara basically resurrected him, but it's still important to know whether he died or not because:

    2. If he DID die (momentarily), then does that mean that the Avatar cycle is dead? Because Avatar Roku said that if he was "KILLED" in the Avatar State, the cycle would end. He didn't necessarily have to "die" for good. So if this is true, does that mean that Aang is the last Avatar? Or does that mean that he even loses his Avatar powers and is now only an airbender? Because that would STINK!

They should call the show "Avatar: The Last Avatar" Jus' kiddin'.

But anyway, anyone got an opinion on this?

My speculation: Aang may have mastered the Avatar State (as in: all its power), but he may have lost his connection to Roku [and the rest of the prior avatars] (as in: all its spirit, except for Aang's own spirit).

So does that mean that he is not only the last Airbender, but also the last Avatar?

Y'know I'm starting to wonder why I'm even asking this lol. It's not like anyone would actually know. Guess I should just be patient

My guess is it's a new one that starts with Aang. Yes -- be patient. All will be revealed (maybe).

The new Avatar Spirit starts with Aang, but Aang will discover anew that "Time is an illusion, and so is death." He may not have access to the prior Avatar Spirit, but his connection to it is not completely lost. And, further, like a long rope that has been cut, it can be made one again by tying the two segments in a knot. When ropes are knotted together, the segments are bound closer than they would have been if the rope had not been cut.

He has access to the powers, but he needs to learn firebending without the need to invoke the Avatar State, when it would be too risky; it's not likely that Katara or some other waterbender is going to come by with more Oasis water.

Being patient is annoying.I think everyone wants to know exactly what happened. I think that maybe he lost his Avatar powers but will soon learn he doesn't need them to master all the elements and will still be powerful.

Yep, and being patient for about five months is even more annoying!

Oh! Just so y'know: I hadn't thought of the Avatar State as separate from the Avatar Spirit before the season finale. Now I do think they are separate, just intertwined.

    These are my theories:

    1) Aang Died and Brought Back to Life:

If that happened, then everything could be back to normal with the Avatar Cycle.

Or, Aang is the final last Avatar or is now the new first one.

Finally, he may not be the Avatar now and the cycle??has ended.??He was brought back to life, so now he can only airbend.

    2) Aang Did Not Die: Everything is normal with the Avatar Cycle.
