    i just noticed that avatar:the last airbender is losing to family guy and south park on the list of top animation shows. why is that? it's been #1 forever, and now it just dropped two rankings!!! why?

    It's still #1 overall in ratings on the site. The #3 ranking is actually for traffic of the Avatar guide within the past 24 hours, and apparently it isn't as high as South Park or Family Guy right now. Keep visiting often and posting a lot and that'll change!

    I have a theory that the stupid population is growing. The stupid population is into, well, dirty & pointless humor, not smartly writen plots, character development, and smart humor. This also explanes the success of movies such as space balls & monty python & the holy grail (both of which I like b/c all of us love stupid comedy every once in a while)

    Not that I don't love Avatar, but all the movies/shows you gave as examples of "stupid" humor actually are also one of the highest forms of comedy. We had a big discussion about this in my AP English class. Especially with South Park, there are deeper messages to many of the episodes, but some people are only able to pick up on the "stupid" humor.

    Like I said...If you don't see the deeper meaning to many of South Park and Family Guy's epiodes, as well as in Monty Python, I wouldn't be calling other people stupid

    This may be an Avatar forum, but this thread is about why Avatar's rating (accoriding to TV.com) are lower than Family Guy and South Park. Therefore, no one is off topic yet with the exception of Tokyoberry who is trying to tell people what to post (which should be its own seperate thread).

    Avatar has a plot, Family Guy is just solidly funny. South Park is in the "I can do with it, I can do without it" category.

    So you're generalizing by just what you see? Hmmm...well, by that same token, I can say that just little kids watch Avatar, because I only know??perhaps one other person where I live who is my age??and watches it. I watch South Park and Family Guy regularly, but I am by no means an idiot. Thanks for being open minded!
