Yeah, its seems like the guy in the boat was Sokka and Katara's father. I (and apparently a lot of other people) thought it looked like him.

Well we will soon find out in like 2 days when we get some screens. The creators probably sneakthat in there for people who watch the show alot.

Isn't it supposed to be on tomorrow at 11:30 or something??? At least that's what my TV guide said.?? We can see it then before the screencaps come up.

i loved all the plot and how you see more of appa's character in this episode. i wonder if his newfound fear of fire will hinder them when they go against the fire nation.

What a fantastic episode!?? So much plot development in just 30 minutes!

That HAD to be Katara and Sokka's dad... he has Sokka's eyes.?? Sokka definitely looks like his dad.?? Plus, if Bato had found their father, he would tell him to watch for the Avatar and a flying bison.?? So, Katara and Sokka's father WOULD have an eye out for them as he is the leader of the fleet and very intelligent in battle.

The Guru MIGHT have learned to airbend, even though he has no arrow on his head.?? He does live in an air temple and has a lot of time to study such things, I'm sure.?? He had time enough at last.?? And he was wearing an earthbender-style green kilt thing like King Bumi wears.?? Maybe he even knows King Bumi?

When Aang meets up with Appa, Appa will take him to the Eastern Air Temple even if Aang doesn't get the message because Appa will remember seeing the Guru there and just start heading in that direction.

I?? wonder if the battle of the Kyoshi Warrios vs. Azula's Gang would have turned out differently had Appa stayed and airblasted them with his tail.?? I find it hard to believe that the Kyoshi warriors would seemingly underestimate Azula.??

Overall, one of the best episodes ever.?? Very well done.?? I can't wait till the coming episodes!

it would be! But I think it was so sweet of Suki to scare him off with a torch telling him to go to aang. Even though Appa wanted to help her because she helped him.

What a big ol fluffy fluff ball!

It was either Katara's dad...or Kinto from the trading card game...they didn't show him for long but I'm positive he wasn't just some random person...cuz they didn't have to show him at all...

if you watch book 1 chap 15 "bato of the water tribe" during sokka's flashbacks, that guy most likely isnt katara sokka's dad. their dad looks taller and a lot better looking.

but wow, this episode was awesome.??i thought the saddest part was when suki first approached appa in that shed and appa??was so afraid. i mean, an animal that loves to be around ppl and suddenly is afraid of any contact with humans is a sure sign that the animal has been abused. this just really made me sad and i felt so bad for appa and i dont usually express sad emotions.

I okay I'm sorry if someone already posted this. but does anyone think that aang got the wrong earthbending teacher that bumi had intended to teach aang. Because I don't but I think that guru patik at the eastern air temple was an earthbender. I mean he did wait for aang and all and he can listen to the earth. Of course this is pure speculation, but the thought occured to me the minute guru patik said he'ld been waiting for the avatar for a long time

I too thought this episode was amazing!! I knew that the human characters were going through character development, but I am floored at the animal development in appa!!! I became so emotional during this episode, my eyes burned with tears, but I wanted to go hug my cat and cuddle him for hours! Seeing Appa's pain and fear and humiliation at the circus really hurt me! Hahaha, I am too emotional. The flashbacks were wonderful! Aang and Appa will be together forever...literally!

Man I loved this episode. Seeing Appa be abused and everything was horrible, but we got to see Appa as a character. And the fight between Azula's gang and the Kyoshi warriors was cool. That was a straight out cat-fight. I hope we see the ending to it.
