How is it a stupid move (I assume you were being sarcastic)?

1: Because it is not allowed, 2: making a topic asking for something that isn't allowed is even smarter (yes still being sarcastic) 3 if you want to know the dvd commentaries you should buy the dvd. Look I don't care if you dl movies illegaly, I do it all the time but the extra's are a bonus something you get when you buy something and it should remain that way. I DL movies because half of the movies aren't the trouble of buying, but the ones who are I do spent money on. If you buy it you want that something extra (as a downloader atleast) because you liked the story and would like to know more stuff around it. But these kind of people will never buy stuff, especially if they can find it online.
So no I won't help him, if you want to know the extra's buy the dvd, if you can't because you have no cash then save up some cash, if you can't because it is not available in your country then get it from another country.

But this is just my opinion.

so you have no qualms about illegally downloading movies, but illegally watching the bonus features somehow crosses a line? what the hell kind of reasoning is that?

It's an extra for when you like something, if I don't like it I won't buy it and don't care about the extra's, if I do like I can watch it online but miss the extra's (they are hardly ever uploaded) and so I see it as an extra to buy the dvd.

See it like a demo, I illegally DL a game to see if I like it to not misspend 50bucks, most games today are online and so if you fully want to play it you have to buy it to be able to play online. This serial key that allows you to go online is the extra, but if I don't like the game you just spend 50 bucks for something you don't like.
It's the same with movies, I get the extra's and know a little more about how the film I like is made, giving me reason to get it. Movies that are great but only fun to watch once is a movie I rent (like comedies).
I'm not here in life to spend my hard earned cash on some half ass performance of some freeloading superstar who thinks he can do anything he wants. I will only spend that cash if I think they actually did something amazing (like the movie The Godfather). So in the case of avatar, yes I will buy all the dvd boxsets, but I hate the dub in my own language and will wait till the english boxset is available at a more reasonable price (not 90 dollars (40-50euros) like it is right now).

There is only commentary for certain episodes. To listen to the commentary, your best bet is to buy the boxed set. And not only is the commentary located on the DVDs, but there are a number of little extras that will help get you through the waiting period. When you do buy the boxed set (it's cheaper than buying the DVDs one at a time) they are 40-50 USD, so don't buy all at once.

movies and shows don't have demos. that's what trailers are for.

whether or not you like something after watching it does not affect the morality of stealing it in the first place. regardless of how you choose to justify it to yourself, if you download movies illegally, you're in no position to tell people what pirated media they are or aren't entitled to watch, be it cartoons, movies, or audio commentaries and interviews. it's nothing short of hypocritical.

Fine have it your way I'm a hypocrite, still I'm glad I didn't pay for the drug habits of half of the overpaid hollywood stars. Call it stealing, I call it not giving cash to a junky (and this is just 1 example of why I illegally DL movies). And about games, they are becomming sh!ttier every day thanks to companies like EA, another reason for me to first try the full game out to see if it's worth it.

So I don't mind being called a hypocrite if it saves my bank account from this no value entertainment. If they want to stop pirates or at least have less of them then they should put more effort into a product, have more reasonable salaries, more restrictions for idiotic "stars" and ask less money for things that are not worth that much.
It's insane and this is my way of saying "I don't want to be part of this".

woah there. i wasn't saying you shouldn't download movies, i was just saying you're in no position to be judging matt for wanting to see the commentaries. although now that you went and spilled you guts, i must say i find your justification hilarious. but hey, whatever helps you sleep at night.

Like I said, I personally think it's an extra for when you like a series and you buy it.
And really I don't give a .... about dl movies games music whatever with or without reason. Lol even thinking about this giving me trouble with my conscience is funny, really it doesn't bother me at all.
