Ursa and death of Azulon should get wrapped up together i'm sure but i think this whole air nomad/bender thing is the most important by the way i just watched 2 interviews w/creators still no conformation that all air nomads can bend plz help |
If bending isn't linked to genetics etc then it is entirely possible that once the balance is restored between the other 3 nations that airbenders will be born within those nations, setting up for the eventual establishment of a new air nomad nation.
Given that it could take potentially up to 800 years for the next airbender avatar to appear (avatar kyoshi was over 200 when she died wasn't she? so aang plus 3 others, thats where i get the figure from in case anyones wondering). so the avatar cycle can continue.
Thats way too much to cover in the finale so it could be covered in books or whatever but that will probably be a loose end left unresovled or "left open for future stories" if you want to be diplomatic about it.

It's something about they being so connected to nature that they are airbenders all. |

I'm gettin aggravted w/ all this speculation I've 4 interviews w/mike and bryan and then all the m. night stuff too and still nothing confirming all air nomads can bend!! grrr |
It is impossible for Aang to be the last airbender completely. Airbenders were nomads, hence their name, meaning they left the temples to explore life. Nowhere in their culture does it dictate they must bare children within their own race, meaning that at least some airbending offspring are in the Earth Kingdom, Water Tribes, and possibly even the Fire Nation, either hiding or completely unknowing of their power.
Also, using "real life" logic, chances are the Fire Nation captured and forcefully bred and conditioned airbenders to add them to their ranks. It would be easy to find airbending children who obviously weren't the avatar, or older airbenders who had passed the defined age limit in which the avatar reincarnated into an airbender form. Then again, airbenders may have simply completely refused and killed themselves to insure that this never happened.
But looking at it, chances are, there are other airbenders, who are scared ****less.

Well, Aang was told by Roku that if the avatar dies in the avatar state, the avatar will no longer exist. In the last chapter of book 2, Aang was killed by Azula, but Katara brought him back. When Aang died, he was in the avatar state, so there will be no more avatars. Not my quote found it on a nick board but found it intresting |

shows Aang in the avatar state just thought it was interesting
it was recently implied in an interview w/ mike & brian that all air nomads are airbenders. nothing concrete though nobody can name any episode or interview where this notion is confirmed
I have done allot of research and this is what i get to support that "cannon" theory
RM: it seems that all air nomads were benders. Did they exile everyone who didn't manifest the trait, or did they have such a high percentage of born benders?
BK: We have always liked the idea of who will be a bender and who won't be to be kind of a an ambiguous mystery, even to the people in the avatar world. From early on we thought all air nomads would be benders. Again it's like Mike was saying its more of a spiritual connection
