if they choose to begin fresh with a new avatar (blasphemy! jk) then i think that next time around, the creators should show us how the avatar is really supposed to be trained and instructed. show us the traditions and all the special stuff about being the avatar. i dunno just sayin.

however, having a break with tradition is good in its own way, i believe that aang's journey (experiencing and connecting with the world) is a good way of developing himself as avatar.

enough of me, back to the thread

    Here's my theory (it' long):

At the Season 3 finale (which will be ACTION PACKED and TOTALLY AWESOME!!!) Aang and Co. confront the Fire Lord, and an epic battle ensues. Aang enters the Avatar State, and continues to battle with Ozai.

Towards the end of the episode, Aang all but kills the Fire Lord and exits the Avatar state. But, in his last dying breath, Ozai kills Aang with a blast of fire.

The episode ends with Aang's funeral, and Katara saying she will search the Water Tribes for the new Avatar.

Season Four (Air) begins many years later, with Katara older and watching over the new Avatar in the South Pole. Then she reveals to him (or her) that he/she is the Avatar. The rest of the season continues with his or her adventures.

    As for a villain...

Dang it people quit forgetting about poor Sokka LOL. I think he could search for the next avatar. It would be different seeing as how he at first thought Anng was the enime and grew attached to the kid after a couple of years. Ask for Katara she could marry Zuko or some thing like that. Do you guy's think there could be a spin off? Seeing as how popular the show is.

lol. yeah i think they just put him in there for comical relief. but still the show has been a little dark latley and needs to mantain the light and darkness of the show. they need to have some funny lighter episodes like from season 1. otherwise the show wont last long enough on nick to see a season 4, because nick has to be all stupid and happy and censorfulrific. you cant really do dark plots on nick.

i partially take my last comment back, i think avatar is pulling off these darker season 2 episodes quite nicely and would like to see more of it through season 3 and hopefully into season 4

I want plot's for Sokka or at least episodes with Sokka. And he is not a looser, he causes comedy, all shows even anime needs comedy. I have not known one single anime to not have comedy in it. To me Sokka is the best character on the show, that's the annoying thing it always either involves Katara or Anng. There??good characters too, but we some times need breaks from benders or else will never know what humans can do.

How about Aang's new mission of teaching everyone to be an Avatar, like a Buddha or Jesus-like figure?
