Aang's tattoo's glowing???

    Avatar Spirit plus Avatar Body equals Aang. I would say that each new avatar's individual living experiences adds to the Avatar Spirit, so the newest avatar is the most powerful avatar.

    true, also dont forget that the longer the avatar cycle excists, the stronger the avatars get. everytime an avatar dies, the next avatar will have one more previous avatar to help him when he goes into the avatar state. i guess that the avatar state was worth almost nothing with the first few avatars.
    i know this is very off-topic, but i had to post this LOL

    ow, and btw, maybe ALL the strongest air benders their tattoo's would glow if they used a giant amount of energy to attack or defend themselfs. just think about Monk Gyatso, maybe his tattoo's were also glowing when he was defending himself from the FN (and appearently he killed a lot of them if u look at all the FN skeletons that were lying around him).
    the simple thing is just, we dont know! we do have a few reasonable possibilities now though.......

    If Monk Gyatso glowed during that fight, it would be for either of two reasons:

    1) All Airbending magic causes glowing (which is flatout untrue)

    2) The tattoos are comprised of a mineral that works like a mood ring, which glows under extreme stress.

    this sumwhat has to do with your topic but it doesnt explain y his tatoo glowz...

    k in the finally after Aang dies he is brought bck to life by Katara's oasis water... and wen he was coming bck to life his tatoo glowed... does that mean that the avatar cycle is not broken any more?
