Everyone will have to change by getting more mature and violent if they are wanting to defeat the Fire Lord

What does that have to do with anything? And I personally don't care. (Being honest)

Heh. The Earth Kingdom can never fall(screw what that Earth King said). It just went on vacation.

Anyway, perhaps something DID stay dead when Aang came back after Azula killed him. I hope that Aang's own personal metamorphisis happend, and we get a more mature Aang.

Way to use my words like that .

Umm.. haven't you been watching the show? Aang already went throught a huge metamorphosis, and I'm not talking about just the season finale and opeining chakaras. He has been grwoing and evolving thorught the whole show, more in the 2nd season. You should probably rewatch episodes like, Southern Air Temple, Storm, Blue Spirit, Bato of the Water Tribe, Deserter, Seige of the North, Avatar State, Bitter Work, The Chase, the Desert (definetly a personal fav), Serpant's Pass, the Guru, and CrossRoads of Destiny. Yes I know it's a big list, but all these epsiodes were amazing, and they all relate to Aang's metamorphosis, and if you want subtly watch all of the episodes, and you'll notice changes in all of them.

Then why do you watch the show?

More mature yes, more violent, I don't think so. It would be out of character for all of the main characters (except Zuko) Plus Avatar is not about the violence, nor is it the reason that I watch Avatar. You'll get much more from the show, by looking deeper into it, and by analysing it.

Sorry for the rant, but I just feel real deep about this topic, and feel I need to defend it.

No, you're the only one who has made the slightest bit of sense in this thread.

I just watched some early Book I episodes . . . and I was floored at how much Aang has matured. Yes, Zuko's character arc may be much more dramatic and therefore more "noticeable," but Aang has actually received a considerable amount of character development, more than anyone else in the Gaang.

In the removal of the chakras, many of Aang's issues went "pop," like his guilt over running away. The only things that remain are

    (1) That he doesn't want to learn firebending (the Guru said that the chakra opened more like a gurgle, or something like that . . . which I take to mean that Aang didn't completely give up)
    (2) That he wasn't able to give up Katara (duh). (But that's not really a "maturity" issue).

I predict there will be a new issue that will emerge in Book III:

    (3) Issues over the Avatar State due to the lightning messing everything up thing. e.g. is the Avatar State totally inaccessible now?
