They were over water, so if Aang had already been a master of waterbending, he could have started an hurricane. At that point, however, he could probably kick up a good wind to make strong waves, but it probably wouldn't have been serious enough to make the warden run away so they could??steal his keys.

You can"t make a hurricane with just airbending. Ha has to master water bending first since it's a combination between those two. When warm ocean water rises and inflicts??with??wind??, then a hurricane may start.??

Like you said, a hurricane also needs warm ocean water, so he'd probably also need to be a firebender.

Well, he might be a Master, but he doesnt know a lot of "Advanced" moves.
Remember the episode "The Storm" way back in Season 1> In the flashback that other monk wanted to teach Aang advanced airbending (Aang already had the arrow). Soon after that he ran away, thus not learning the advanced moves.

So he IS a master, he just doesn't know the advanced Airbending moves.

the monk said he wanted to test Aang on some high level techniques, not advanced moves

You know, no one has ever wondered why if that arrow on his bald head is just a tatoo, why does it light up when he goes into avatar mode? Plus, I just wanted to say ouch. That tatoo must have hurt alot to get slapped on his head. His shiny head.

that and, it's sort of obvious that female airbenders aren't bald

They took him over to a tattoobender who doesn't burn the skin but uses specialized airbending and a special dye sensitive to spirit energy.

And the tattoo don't stop with the head, ya-know.

Nope, waterbenders can control the heat of their water. Katara can bend normal water in to ice and steam. So he wouldn't need to firebend.
