    Either way its a Party... Ball, Welcoming, "Get-Together" there all the same [different purpose] they have drinks, music and dance no doubt. hence they are all the same

    It can't be a welcome party? Nope, it IS a "welcome party," because that's what the creators called it at Comic Con. : )

    But welcome parties are usually public and ot a private party besides Aang wasn't invited.
