Its been a long time since I typed one of my theories, so i decided to do this one right now.?? It has SOME evidence, not as much as the destiny theory, but enough to make some speculation:

If you remember in The Storm (which seems to be the only episode i theorize about along with Zuko Alone), the head of The Southern Air Temple announced that because of Gyasto holding Aang back, he would have to be transfered to The Eastern Air Temple because it was "Best for the world."?? This was for the completion of his training, or the second stage of his training, as I see it.??

There is a spoiler out stating that in Episode 107 (Winter Solstice Part 1: The Spirit World), when aang said that he was looking for someone to teach him to be the avatar, it was referring to The Guru and not to Avatar Roku as much.?? This is supposed to be true, but the source should not be revealed because??these spoilers will ruin a lot.?? I didn't read them, someone, who I wont say so as not to have people annoy them, saw some of them, and confirmes that they are true.

Anyway, as I was saying, The Guru came to the??Eastern Air Temple with a vision of helping Aang and Appa??long ago.?? Maybe, and??the avatar website has confirmed that??Bactic is 150 years old (so he'd be 50 when aang was frozen), this means that Aang would be trained by Bactic for the rest of his training, not so much about Gyatso not training him as well, but Aang knew airbending, this was the next step.?? This was why aang was??going to be transfered, and who??his teacher was going to be, and will be soon.????The message??attached to Appa will tell us much more about this, as well as part 1 of the finale will help us learn about this.?? Hopefully this theory helps give a possibility??for The Guru's connection to Aang.??

Anything is possible, if you just believe.......

Maybe you're right. We'll just have to wait until The Guru.

Aang wasn't being sent to the Eastern Air Temple to learn anything he couldn't have learned from Gyatso.

As for Bactic being 150, I don't believe anything until it's stated in the episodes. He could be the reincarnation of Monk Gyatso for all we know(at least that's what I think).

no chance he is the incarnation of gyatso, that makes absolutely no sence. The guru is 150 years old, gyatso was alive 100 years ago, therefore that makes very little sence. Bactic has more spiritual things, maybe the next stage of aang's training. Though gyatso rocked, he was just for airbending, and maybe he was holding aang down a little.
